My Mission:
Community! I want more than anything to create a welcoming space, one where you feel supported on and off your mat. During my classes, I hope to empower you to find your strength, find a balance of effort and ease, and create a little extra inner space to hold light and joy that will feed and nourish your body until the next time we meet.
My Personal Goal:
Just because we age does not mean we have to be “old”. My focus is on enhancing the quality of my longevity as I age by maintaining muscle mass, flexibility, and positive mental well-being through intentional breath and movement, centering my focus on a balance of daily activities such as yoga, walking, running, biking, or weights.
My Why:
I had to ask myself this question several times. Why, at this point in my life, did I decide to walk this path? After allowing my thoughts to settle, I kept coming back to the same idea. Because I have always struggled with feeling good in my body, I wanted to share the things that have helped me so much over the last couple of years. I’m passionate about helping you find that space and community where you are allowed to grow and be comfortable. A space that encourages you to listen to what your body needs and offers a gentle push to allow your body to learn what it is capable of. A space where you are seen and heard.
My Journey:
My yoga journey began in my 40s. After a decade of running half and full marathons, my body needed flexibility and recovery. I decided to try a Hot Vinyasa Yoga class and discovered that it was very similar to the running workouts I was accustomed to, but without the impact on my body. I continued to take classes on and off over the next couple of years, but it was not a consistent practice.
In 2023, the studio I frequently attended opened a location just three minutes from my home. Eager to "get in shape," I jumped back in and found much more than I expected. I discovered a community, gained physical and mental strength, and experienced a reset—a brief period after each class when my body was able to be at ease. I was hooked.
When the studio offered a 200-hour teacher certification class, I decided to leap, even though I wasn't entirely sure why I wanted to. After nine months of meeting twice a week with fifteen amazing women, stepping outside my comfort zone, allowing myself to be vulnerable, and re-engaging my mind in a learning mode, I achieved my certification and so much more.
That brings us to the current. I am enjoying teaching, and with each class becoming more settled. Being able to guide and take in all of the beautiful movement fills up my inner space with joy and peace. For now, I am concentrating on keeping my mind and heart open, ready so that I continue to grow and support you, whatever shape that may be.
